I did a thing at the start of the year: my second year of @southernoceanshowdown down at the awesome @crossfitwarrnambool 💪
Total honesty...I delayed posting the photos because I was hating on being heavier than I was the year before. My fitness was not great so I wasn’t happy with my performance, I’ve been training strength and neglecting my engine so stamina 👎 that trail run almost did me in! BUT...then I think to heck with it, I should be proud and share my mediocre moments, yes I’m heavier but I’m definitely stronger - I hit a pr clean, I completed a 5.5km run (even if I was almost last) and I had an awesome time with my superduper partner Lynn, my handsome strong man Oti backing me the whole way, the amazing @perfittrainingcentre crew rallying everyone at every stage. So thanks @anthony_rogers_photography for capturing the pain and the pleasure from SOS this year. Here are some photos of me trying my hardest doing fitness things xx

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve been feeling guilty about the good things that have been going on in my house while I watch others lose theirs. The thick layer of smoke still lying over us in the Rat, even though we are so far from the devastation, serves as a constant reminder that my fellow Australians - human and animal - are hurting. I’ll be rallying tomorrow on my lunch break and have donated to @wildlifevictoria and @wireswildliferescue and will be crocheting some birds nests for @animalrescuecraftguild over the weekend. I hope everyone is holding on OK. I feel so proud of how strong our community becomes when faced with crisis, what an amazing bunch of humans we have around us! (Except for our leaders unfortunately)
Do what you can, give what you can and make what you can. This is a long road we are on, hopefully we can keep this good will going and make some real change.
In the meantime cherish your near and dear ones, look after yourself and take it easy in the face of all this trauma and heartache! ✌🏼💕
